“Creative place making communicates distinctiveness and generates connections across communities. Intertwining themes course through my vibrant and layered paintings, murals and public art. Also coursing through my bodies of work are themes of renewal, regeneration, and redemption, part of human nature and thus, part of the fabric of the identity of our place and culture. I am drawn to capturing strong women in many of my murals. In [this concept], a woman who is emerging from suppression is now able to begin presenting her true vibrant nature.”
