The Myrtis Jackson mural honors Myrtis Lucille Jackson (1923-2020), a beloved matriarch tragically killed by a family member in Auburn Gresham just months shy of her 97th birthday. Moved by the loss, Jacqueline Xavier, former owner of M2M Gifts, partnered with Myrtis' great-grandson, Zavion Neely, and local artists to create a mural celebrating her life. Completed with The Simple Good and lead artist Corbin DeShazo, the mural was unveiled on Myrtis’ 97th birthday, October 28, 2020, during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
