Israel Kamakawiwoʻole Memorial Bust

Bronze bust with front torso of Israel "Bruddah Iz" Kamakawiwo'ole. Located at the Waianae Neighborhood Community Center. Plaque reads "Israel Ka'ano'i Kamakawiwo'ole, May 20, 1959 - June 26, 1997, In a gentle voice, he spoke through his music to Hawai'i and worlds beyond of love and respect for the values of his Ni'ihau heritage. Strong in his faith, loving husband and father, he envisioned a Sovereign land of promise for the keiki. Israel's sweet music reflected a deep attachment to the 'aina and to his people, especially of the Wai'anae Coast, his beloved and final home of rainbows.
